The Last Arrow: Part I
(Understanding IFP’s “Contend Philippines”)

Prelude to “Contend Philippines”
On July 13, 2017, Thursday at AHI Makati City, Bishop Daniel Balais gave a PRELUDE on the forthcoming “Contend Philippines” which was sponsored by Intercessors for the Philippines for JULY 15 at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City. It was a brief announcement of a Prayer Rally which was made only two weeks prior to the set scheduled. Why such a hurry?
“The Last Arrow”
When Bishop Balais shown a 5-minute video clip of the movie “Hobbit” concerning ‘the last arrow” one could not help but to heave a sigh of despair and desperation that brought the intercessors down on their knees to cry, pray and intercede. In that moment as I put my face like a flint on the floor, I saw a rather unacceptable, disgusting vision – “Mc Donald’s Fried Chicken!” I was in utter shock and asked myself whether I was dreaming, hungry or what? And I must admit, I haven’t taken my breakfast that day and the vivid picture compliments the unholy hour of nearly beyond lunchtime and we have not eaten anything yet.
Vision for the Philippines
Bishop Dan Balais reminds us of God’s divine vision to the Philippines as a “sheep-nation” and as “missionary-sending nation” to the world. With the enemy’s unchallenged clout to what is happening in our nation now, one should not rest not until he contend and make a good fight for this nation.
Bishop Balais was merely re-echoing what has been given to us by men and women of God who consistently reminding us of God’s good plan to the nation. Historian Sonia Zaide writes in her book describing Philippines “as a light to the world;” Ralph Mahoney branding us as “sheep-nation;” Canadian Pastor Church Pierce, “Philippines, a seven-headed dragon slayer;” Jill Shanon said, “Philippines, the Jerusalem in Asia,” Brian Bailey called as “Philippines the “Israel” in Asia,” and many more. Sadhu Selvaraj is one among those servants of the Lord who said that we have a good destiny in God’s end time plan and next to Israel is the Philippines. Sadhu is the one who encouraged the Church to contend for our destiny.

God ordained
God ordained the times and seasons on the earth. God ordains as well our country’s prophetic destiny should we only listen to Him. But we must learn how to listen to Him patiently and sincerely with passionate heart.
Genesis 1:14 (Amp), “And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be signs and tokens (of God’s provident care), and (to mark) seasons, days and years.”
Season governs
Genesis 1:16, “And God made the two great lights – the greater light (the sun) to rule the day and the lesser light (the moon) to rule the night. He also made the stars.”
The word “rule” in Hebrew “memshalah” means “to govern and have dominion,” and the seasons govern the affairs on the earth. All living things are governed by seasons.
The affairs of men are governed by seasons – when to rest and when to fight. In our present situation today, being sloppy as festive and sleepy isn’t the season. Everyone must keep his watch and pray.
We must know how to identify the seasons and times of God. In Greek word, the word “season” or “time” may refer to various applications and we must move according to the timing of God.

Jubilee Year
According to Webster, Jubilee is simply means “a special anniversary” but also “a celebration.” Often refers to a year of emancipation and restoration provided by the ancient Hebrew Law to be kept every 50th years by the emancipation of the Hebrew slaves and restoration of alienated laws to their former owners and omission of all cultivation of the land. Another definition is festival or fiesta (which is a norm nearly all over in the Philippines).
In the Philippines, we celebrate the so-called “EDSA People’s Power” in February, 1986. And we celebrate that year-by-year. But how about liberation of the Philippines from the hands of our colonizers like Spain, American and the Japanese? Do we celebrate them?
Philippines’ 490 Years Jubilee Season
In one large conference sometime on 2009, Bishop Balais shared, “I was about to come up to the stage when I heard the Lord telling me, ‘It is your Jubilee Season in the Philippines! Count the years when you were first colonized by Spain!’ Readily I called the attention of Pastor Ed De Guzman and told him, “Please, count how many years we have not by the time Magellan discovered the Philippines?’ Ed de Guzman said, ‘490.’ Later that time, Cindy Jacob, a known prophetess of God spoke about Jubilee Season.”

Daniel 9:24 reads:
“Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.”
(picture3)
The Proclamation of the Year of Jubilee in March 16, 2010 at the Cebu International Convention Centre was organized by the Intercessors for the Philippines was attended by over 5,000 intercessors and pastors.
But with the plaguing and pressing concerns that faces this nation – the drug menace, extra-judicial killing (EJK), the looming bill of same sex marriage in the lower Congress and other shady bills, the ISIS and war in Marawi City, China’s continuing military building in the contested South China Sea (SCS), and others – our godly-vision is far beyond our reach.
God’s vision and prophetic destiny of this nation is much at stake. Who then is our enemy? Are we about to miss our much-awaited Jubilee season? What is a Jubilee?
Who is our enemy?
That problem is – who is our enemy that hinders God’s prophetic destiny of this nation? Definitely not flesh and blood according to the Scriptures “but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places,” (Ephesians 6:12).
Identifying the enemy
In any field of battle, how to defeat the enemy poses a big challenge? But to know their strengths and weaknesses is another. But where to find their strongholds are, that is another story?
Enemy must be identified should you ever plan for an attack otherwise your assault might boomerang on you.
Intercessors for the Philippines (IFP) launched “Contend Philippines” last July 15 at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City which was sudden and quick because finally God revealed to the intercessors who our enemy is in contending this nation. Leviathan!
Like a religious spirit under the cloak of pastoral fellowship or in a bishop’s robe, leviathan spirit is a very religious spirit who dwells and worship in the temple. Leviathan disguises himself in various times, seasons and forms.
Leviathan (Job 41)
Leviathan i.e. sea monster, called “Draco”, dragon; a large aquatic animal; extinct like dinosaur or plesioasaurus; wreathed animal like serpent; “twisted and coiled”; a enemy of light (Job 41:1). Leviathan is a crocodile. In Psalms 104:26 it denotes "any large animal that moves by writhing or wriggling the body, the whale, the monsters of the deep." Figuratively for a cruel enemy,... and as used in Isaiah 27:1 "leviathan as the piercing [RSV 'swift'] serpent, even leviathan that crooked [RSV margin, 'winding'] serpent."
Draco in the Bible
Job wishes that soothsayers would have conjured up leviathan to swallow up the day of his birth (NIV note). Job 3:8/ NIV, “May those who curse days cursed that day, those who are ready to rouse Leviathan.” In KJV “leviathan” is interpreted as “mourning” (Hebrew ) “livyathan” i.e. “leviathan, sea monster, dragon, large aquatic animal, perhaps as extinct dinosaur, plesiosaurus.”
James Strong Bible Dictionary defined “mourning” as “a wreathed animal, that is a serpent (especially the crocodile or some other large sea monster); figuratively the constellation od the dragon; also a symbol of Babylon; leviathan; mourning.”
Job 3:8 may be referring to the constellation Draco. In ancient times the sky was seen as a mirror image of the earth below. So the leviathan in the sea or nether world had a counter part in the sky, Draco who would swallow the sun or moon when there is an eclipse.
(picture4)
In Job 3:8a (KJV) reads, “Let the stars of the twilight thereof be dark..” The word “stars” in Hebrew “kokab” means “of Messiah” personifying God’s omniscience.”
-
Job may be calling on the giants Ohya and Ahya who battled Leviathan before they were destroyed in Noah’s flood according to the Book of Giants (TDOT 1995, Vol.7, 506).
-
An eclipse of the sun or moon the ancients believed leviathan swallowed them so total darkness prevailed until he released his prey (Delitzsch, 1976, 78).
-
"I shall deliver you with great magic from Leviathan, the sea monster" ( Aramaic incantation, Ibid, 505).
-
Incantation : a series of words used to make something magic happen (like prophetic Word of the Lord); use of spell or verbal charms (spoken or sung or written)
In Odyssey there is a description of a sea monster called "Scylla." "Her legs 'and there are twelve' are like great tentacles, unjointed, and upon her serpent necks are borne six heads like night-mares of ferocity and triple serried rows of fangs and deep gullets of black death. Hal
f her length, she sways her heads in air" (Fitzgerald 1961, 212; Book 12:88-94; LCL 104, 439).
In the Giant squid, Architeuthis which Ellis says is "probably responsible for more myths, fables, fantasies, and fictions than all other marine monsters combined" (1994, 122). Therefore it seems most likely that the stories of a seven-headed sea serpent arose from seeing the giant squid, Architeuthis.
Who can contend Leviathan?
How can fight against leviathan? How powerful this creature is? According to Job, this gigantic beast or sea-monster is undefeatable. This is how he describes the monster?
“Canst thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord which thou lettest down? Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn? Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft words unto thee? Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever? Wilt thou play with him as with a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens? Shall the Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears? Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more. Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the sight of him? None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me? Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine. I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion. Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle? Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about. His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal. One is so near to another, that no air can come between them. They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered. By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron. His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth. In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him. His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone. When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves. The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon. He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood. The arrow cannot make him
flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble. Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear. Sharp stones are under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire. He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment. He
maketh a path to shine after him; one would think the deep to be hoary. Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear. He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride.” --- (Job 41:1-32 /KJV)
In verse in the New Living Translation (NLT) it reads that Leviathan “is the king of the beasts.”
And no mortal being can ever beat that beast! No one!
Who and what can beat leviathan?
We the believers are called the “children of light”. As iron sharpens iron, so is us are sharpens by the blade of enemy. We may be mortals clothes in mortal, fragile bodies but in our spirits we know we are the children of God (John 1:12). The Spirit bears witness in our spirits such divine privilege (Romans 8).

Mc Donald’s Fried Chicken
On July 16, 2017 (Sunday) at 6:00 AM, while driving to the Church I was reminded with what Kuya Ed De Guzman’s preaching on “Leviathan” saying at the end of his message that “leviathan” must be eaten. Hugh! Is that true?
How to deal with this spirit. “EAT!” says Pastor Ed de Guzman. How? Eat it alive or raw? From there, it reminds me of the vision that I saw last Thursday, 13th of July, 2017 right after Bishop Dan’s preaching on “Contend Philippines.”
Pastor Ed gave this message in Psalms 74:14, “Thou brakest the heads of leviathan in pieces,
and gavest him to be meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness. “ The word “meat” in original
Hebrew root word “akal” means “to devour.” To devour food is to make it consumable. The
Enemy leviathan is therefore consumable like a mere tinapa (smoked fish). Since the enemy
is well-identified he is easily to be dealt now. Nothing is really too hard for God.
“EAT!” in Psalm 17:14 is similar to Peter’s vision “ to eat the unclean animals” in Acts 10:14. Acts 10:13 a voice came to Peter saying, “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.”
-
“ RISE” Greek “anistemi” i.e. “to cause to rise up; to stand up, raise up from the dead; to be born”. Is the Lord is saying that “you’re still unborn, a fetus?”
-
“KILL “ (Greek) “thuo” i.e. to sacrifice, to slay (like a Paschal Lamb)
-
“EAT” ( Greek) “phago” i.e. “to eat as a meal; to devour, to consume,

Wat Arun, Thailand.
Many years back, I went to Wat Arun, one of Thailand’s greatest landmarks beside the Grand Palace.
(Picture6)
Wat Arun or "Temple of Dawn" is a Buddhist temple (wat) in Thailand, on the Thonburi of the Chao Phraya River. The temple derives its name from the Hindu god Aruna, often personified as the radiations of the rising sun. Wat Arun is among the best known of Thailand's landmarks and the first light of the morning reflects off the surface of the temple with pearly iridescence.[2] Although the temple had existed since at least the seventeenth century, its distinctive prang (spires) were built in the early nineteenth century during the reign of King Rama II.
Aruna is the Hindu deity of dawn. He was the son of Kasyapa who married Kadru. The god Brahma granted Kadru a gift to have 1,000 Naga (serpent) sons according to Encyclopaedia of Hindu World. No wonder, there is also Naga Snake, the guardian of Angkor Wat in Siem Rep, Cambodia. Canadian Pastor Chuck Pierce said, “Philippines, you are a seven-headed dragon slayer.”
Mc Donald’s fried chicken
-
July 13, Thursday:. Pastor Dan presentation on a video clip entitled “Hobbit…” we were asked to kneel down and intercede for the nation. In a vision, I saw this…”Mc Do Fried Chicken” and I asked the Lord why? My fellow-coordinators who attended the Seminar laughed and jokingly said I may have not taken my breakfast and it was hallucinatory and it was indeed true that I missed my breakfast. Would that be funny?
-
July 14, Friday. Pastor Ed de Guzman explained about “leviathan” a serpent-crocodile like sea monster and he said made “food of it.” How’s it related to “Mc Do Chicken” I saw yesterday?”
-
July 16, Sunday; 6:00 AM. While driving I was reminded by the Lord about what Peter saw in a vision while he was praying.

July 16, Sunday; 7:00 AM. Gina invited me to attend her mom’s 80th birthday for Mc Donald’s Fried Chicken.
Leviathan’s 1st encounter
My 1st encounter with the word “Leviathan” was sometime on early 2011 during the “Phl-China Face Off” at Panatag Shoal, (Headline, April 11, 2011) in a prayer meeting. God placed me underwater and I saw a small-creature moving like a tadpole. As I come closer, I saw like a crocodile, if not a snake. The word, “encroaching” came. This creature does not come to you face-to-face but mostly behind your back, if not, pa simple or pailalim. The Lord lead me to search the scriptures of the “sea monster or creature” in Job 41:1, Psalm 74:14, 104:26, Isa. 27:1. That very prayer meeting, I heard the Lord saying to me “Hammurabi.”
Hammurabi
I never knew the word “Hammurabi” not until that night when He gave me the word. Hammurabi is the 6th Babylonian king, enacted The Code, which consist of 282 laws and corresponding punishments (depending on social status). The notion of trial by ordeal actually has some foundation in this ancient set of laws. Pair “Excerpts from Leviathan” with “The Code of Hammurabi” created the legal systems, keeping social contract theory in mind.
Excerpts from Leviathan is part of Thomas Hobbes’ Leviathan published in 1651. Hobbes is an English philosopher and historian. His masterwork Leviathan rivals in significance the political writings of Plato, Aristotle, Locke, Rousseau, Kant and Rawls. Leviathan is based on “social contract theory” that deals with the Laws of Nature according to Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy.
“Livyathan” (Hebrew), Astronomical and Biblical
-
leviathan i.e. sea monster, called “Draco”, dragon
-
large aquatic animal; extinct like dinosaur or plesioasaurus
-
wreathed animal like serpent
Biblical Astronomer, Gerardus D. Bouw, Ph.D. on “Draco the Dragon,” The word dragon is used throughout Europe to describe a type of animal known around the world. The Authorized Bible mentions dragons52 Witness of the stars 35 times. Of these, all are in the Old Testament except for 13 occurrences in the Revelation. Here are the properties which the Authorized Bible assigns to the dragons: they are venomous (De. 32:33); they may be found on land (Is. 34:13) or in the sea (Psalm. 74:13); they live in dens (Jer. 9:11); they snuff the wind (Jer. 14:6); they wail (Micah. 1:8); they can live in a waste wilderness (Mal. 1:3); Satan is called a dragon with seven heads (Rev. 12:4); and finally, a serpent is a dragon (Rev. 20:2).
Leviathan’s Historical Records
Are the translating committees right in avoiding dragons? Certainly, no one can mistake a sea
serpent for a jackal. Stories of dragons abound around the world. The memoirsof Alexander the Great tell of seeing a dragon kept in a cave in India. The creature hissed frightfully and was over
100 feet long. Chinese history tells of using dragon eggs for medicine band of a family which raised and trained dragons to pull the emperor’s chariot on special occasions. The Italian naturalist, Ulysses Androvanus documented the death of a dragon in painstaking detail because they had become so rare. He tells of a peasant, named Baptiste who met the dragon on May 13, 1572 near Bologna near Bologna and clubbed it to ,death with his staff.
Reports of dragons were common through about the tenth century. As for the dragons in the seas, both the Vikings and the Chinese formed their ships in their image. So dragons, although now apparently extinct, were still fairly common 1,000 years ago. The evidence for their existence is overwhelming. For example, how did the Chinese Biblical Astronomer, number 100 53 know of dragon eggs?
In examining the tales around the world it is clear that dragons and dinosaurs are, if not the same, at least related. So the critics err by relegating (banishing) dragons to mythology.

Snake Encounter – It is not an accident
My “snake encounter” is not an accident. I heard and saw it by myself while travelling on these places and some of them are mentioned below.

Sultan Ahmed Mosque
There is a “three-headed snake in Constantinople (now Istanbul (June, 2017) which was recently excavated according to Emile Meltem, our tourist guide. In Sultanahmet Mosque or
(Blue Mosque) in Istanbul, you’ll a Serpent Column which was brought from Delphi, Greece in ancient time according to Akgun Akova (2017)
(picture7)
Hagia Sophia
Medussa in Hagia Sophia (2017). Inside this once Orthodox Church turned Mosque, is a column pedestal where you can see the head of Medusa and be careful not to look into her eyes otherwise you might be immediately turned into a stone according to the Greek Legend. But what this image is doing in such sacred house of worship from the times of Christian Era up to this very day which is already Islamic?
Why a snake-headed Greek goddess, Medussa is doing there in once an Orthodox Church?
Bergama, Turkey
Bergama is the ancient city of Pergamun in the Book of Revelation.
Asklepion, son of Apollo was given incantation by a serpent and he turned to be a healer placing Pergamun as the “healing center” of the world. Native –born, Galen, next only to Hippocrates, the Father of Modern Medicine studied Medicine in Asklepion. In the heart of the town of Bergama below the acropolis is the Statue of Galen standing beside a column where a giant snake is coiled. Snake is a universal symbol of Science of Medicine to this very day. Research shows that the god of wisdom and knowledge is the Serpent but the God of True Wisdom is God the Almighty.
(picture8)
According to Bureau of Intelligence and Research in Washington, D.C. (2017), there are around 195 states in the whole world today. And why in this world the spirit of Asklepios would ever transfer in the Philippines which is dubbed as the “healing capital of the world” due to faith healing? It is in Pangasinan where this “power of healing” came from and it originated in my hometown, Rosales.
Hydra
Hydra, was a serpentine water monster killed by Hercules I was in Hydra, Greece in 1985. Hydra is the largest of the 88 modern constellations, measuring 1303 square degrees. Also one of the longest at over 100 degrees, its southern end abuts Libra and Centaurus and its northern end borders Cancer according to Ridpath & Tirion (2001)
(picture9)
It is one among the 48 constellations listed by the 2nd century astronomer Ptolemy. It is commonly represented as a water snake. It should not be confused with the similarly named constellation of Hydrus.
(picture10)
Scylla. Hydra, Greece (1985)
Odyssey there is a description of a sea monster called “Scylla.” Scylla was one of the two monsters that guarded the Strait of Messina. It had tentacles for legs and six giant dog heads aligning at her waist. ... The Hydra always had at least one head or more.
The Hydra who was killed by Hercules is probably a giant octopus. The hydra is said to have
nine heads, and when one was cut off, two more grew in its place says Pliny the Elder , “Naturalis Historia.”
