Where do you draw your future? Where your destiny lies from? Is it from tarot cards, horoscope, palmistry, hula or pre-cognition as we put it in Psychology, “the ability to see the future,” spirit of the glass and others?
My mother was a firm believer in prediction and palmistry. She would call them up and would asked them to minister to me. I remember that one palmist that I would become a doctor and I would have plenty of paramours. Palmistry or chiromancy is foretelling the future through the study of the palm. And I believed them.
Jeremiah 10:2/ NLT, “This is what the Lord says, Do not act like the other nations, who try to read their future in the stars.Do not be afraid of their predictions, even though other nations are terrified by them.”

Future in the stars
The “Future In The Stars” in Jeremiah 10:2/ NLT is my Daily Devotion exactly on December 25, 2019 at 4:13 A.M. while the whole world is celebrating the Christmas which is the Birth of Jesus Christ. Isaiah 9:6 says, “For unto us a child is born.” While the word “born” n Hebrew “yalad” means “birth,” the word “born” in Greek “genos” also means “a generation” (Matthew 2:1).
The question is why would be the generation of Jesus Christ be led by a star as the Scriptures validates?
Coincidence
Where was the star originated from when Christ was born in Bethlehem? Why the Magi were being led by a star? The Bible writes, “For we have seen his star in the east” (Matthew 2:2). Even human government in the person of Herod asked the wise men. The Scriptures unfolded, “Herod, … enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared,” (Matthew 2:7).
Would that makes God astrologer?
While I asked this morning at 7:10, where do we draw our hope our lives and our aspirations in the future and whether this life questions is we draw them the future in the stars as Jeremiah have prophesied?
Coincidence or not, the Philippine Star Headlines placed this in the front page that reads: “Pinoy deities take their place among the stars” by Epi Fabonan III dated December 26, 2019.
Meanwhile according to the report by Associated Press dated December 26, 2019, “Israeli PM evacuated from rally after rocket fired from Gaza Strip” to its Southern territory Wednesday, forcing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be hustled from a stage during an election rally in the city of Ashkelon.
Nostradamus
To reiterate Jeremiah 10:2, it says, “This is what the Lord says, Do not act like the other nations, who try to read their future in the stars. Do not be afraid of their predictions, even though other nations are terrified by them.”
Have you heard Nostradamus also known as Michel de Nostredame, a French astrologer, physician and a seer?
I used to believe him. He prophesied the end of the world brought by war but he concluded that it can be aborted provided men will learn to at peace with each other. On the other hand, the Scripture said that only Jesus Christ is the only key of every beginning and end (Rev. 1:8). And He alone is the “Prince of Peace” that will bring all nations in complete unity and peace (Isa. 9:6-7).
Signs of heavens
“Future in the stars” in New Living Translation (NLT) reads “signs of heavens” in King James Version (KJV).
God is a God of signs, marks and omen. Remember that saying, “A business without sign is a sign of no business?”
God makes signs as instructional and directional. God is being called Jehovah-Nissi meaning “God is our Banner
The magi found the Lord in a manger through the sign in a star. And the “End Times” is foretold to us by the Bible through “understanding the signs of times” in Matthew 24. The most popular is this:
“And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places, “ - Matthew 24:26-27
Even ancient Babylon just like other nations consult mediums and astrologers for the destiny of their nation but God is greater than them. Isaiah 47:13 says:
“Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.”
While astrologers study the skies, God created the stars and He planned it first before creating them.
God, an astrologer
Is it God an astrologer? Is it not astrology is forbidden none other than by the Lord Himself? Then why God said to Abraham that way?
Exodus 32:13, “Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it forever.”
God speaks practically everywhere be through the stars or any in other affair of men or be in term of prophetic word by a man of God. God talked even through a donkey remember?
Birth of Christ
Even the birth of Jesus Christ bears a mark as “star in the east” according to the Gospel of Matthew 2:2. In fact, it says there “His star in the east.” While “his “ refers to “Greek word “autos” means “himself” or “he” and the word “star” on the other hand in Greek “aster” means “strown over the sky.” Aster is derived from the Greek word, “astronnumi” meaning “spread as a carpet or couch.” It also means “to spread” is used of “furnishing a room,” (Mark 14:15; Luke 22:12 or “making a bed” (Acts 9:34; Matthew 21:8).
Why should stars in the universe confirm Abraham’s call? Is he that special? Then why God revealed to Magi to follow “his star” to reveal the messianic birth of Jesus Christ in Matthew 2:2?
Astrologer
God does not only uses the stars are a sign of end times but it is also a sign of change of season in Genesis 1:14. Would that makes God the Great Astrologer? What is astrology?
Astrology is a pseudoscience that claims to divine information about human affairs and terrestial events by studying the movement and relative positions of celestial objects according to Paul R. Thagard in his writing entitled, “Why Astrology is a Pseudoscience?” (1978). Is it this man Thagard who first affirmed such a claim or a man of God called “Job, a man of God?”
Job said:
“Then the Lord answered Job from the whirlwind:2 “Who is this that questions my wisdom with such ignorant words?3 Brace yourself like a man, because I have some questions for you and you must answer them.4 “Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? Tell me, if you know so much 5 Who determined its dimensions and stretched out the surveying line?
6 What supports its foundations, and who laid its cornerstone 7 as the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy? ..31 “Can you direct the movement of the stars— binding the cluster of the Pleiades or loosening the cords of Orion? 32 Can you direct the constellations through the seasons or guide the Bear with her cubs across the heavens 33 Do you know the laws of the universe? Can you use them to regulate the earth?”
From the above-given verses, you will find out that God governs the affair of men through the movement of the stars through times, days and seasons. You can also refer Genesis 1:14.
“Even the sun stood still and the moon stayed” when God avenged Joshua and His people from his enemies (Joshua 10:13). This prove that natural science can cooperate with men should the Lord warrants it. Stars, moons and even the seas work hand in hand with us to serve the purposes of God just like Moses when he “stretch out his hand over the sea and divide it,” to deliver his own people from the hands of the wicked Pharaoh (Exodus 14:16).
Can we say God is the true, divine Astrologer? When Jesus foretold to His disciples the signs of times in Matthew 24, are we not being taught to study the predictions of God of what is about to come in the future, wouldn’t be an astrology in a way?
Take note that Philippine Star News dated December 26, 2019 writes, “Pinoy deities take their place among the stars” as reported by Epi Fabonan III. While they have deities, we on the other hand, have the True Deity of the entire universe who can foretell exactly what is about to come in the future.
In other words, seeing things before it happens should not be a big deal to us. At least twice, God spoke to me about (spiritual) earthquake and raging floods before it actually happened. And that has been unveiled before my very eyes when God shaken the communism in East Berlin thus breaking the wall between the east and the west. The second time was when God sent a flood during the onslaught of Typhoon Pepeng on October 9, 2009.
Prediction
Shall we sourced out from the prediction of the stars? Or from what is being spoken from the mouth of God that shaken even the star?
God said to his prophet, “Hear the word that the Lord speaks to you, O Israel ,” (Jeremiah 10:1).
God’s Covenant
While at Conrad’s Hotel last January 5, 2020, I was surprised when Isaac, my son asked me this question, “What is God’s covenant to you, Papa?”
I was surprised because three (3) days earlier and that was January 2 when God spoke to me in
Jeremiah 11:6, “Go from town to town and say… Remember the ancient covenant…” God told me to find a girl and I shall bear a son named Isaac way back on early 1986. From there, God gave me Genesis 12:1-3 as a covenant. Later on, he said, this way citing a star and said
(picture2)
“Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, thy servants, to whom thou swarest by thine own self, and saidst unto them, I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven, and all this land that I have spoken of will I give unto your seed, and they shall inherit it forever.” Exodus 32:13
The word “remember” is itself a covenant or agreement. “Remember” in Hebrew “zakar” means “to record” or “to make a memorial.” Remember is to keep in mind in honour of a person or someone. That is the Abrahamic Covenant is being symbolized with the “stars of heaven” which is interpreted in Hebrew “kokab” as “a prince” (figuratively), “a star” (literal) or a “stargazer.”
Stargazer according to Webster is a person who looks at the stars; a person who studies astronomy or astrology. Am I an astrologer? Perhaps Yes!
If I could prove the Word of God as true and genuine in order to bring souls back to Christ, why not? Am I not just like the way you are as created lesser than God Himself, a litter lower than the angel and yet God has “put all thing under his feet?” (Psalm 8:5-6).
Isaac, my 27-year old is a living proof of the Living Word of God that has been promised to me.
Ha ha ha
But that very day at past 12 in the morning when Isaac asked me this question, “What is God’s covenant to you” which is being interpreted as star or constellation in the person of Isaac, son of Abraham, while driving on my home to Pangasinan along TPLEX, the disc jockey of FM 107.50 at 4:44 a.m. said to his listeners, “Your constellation (star) sign says…”
Ha ha ha. That is funny, isn’t it? A coincidence? There is no coincidence as the Bible puts it. Ecclesiastes 9:11, “… It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time.”
Kairos
The word “chance” in Hebrew “pega” meaning “happening, occurrence, chance” is being interpreted in Greek word, “kairos,” i.e. “an opportune time, holiday, or opportunity.” Kairos is like being at the right place at the right time.
It so happened that Isaac, my son’s private company is being named “Kairos” with a motto that says, “ … at the right place at right time.” Accident again? Ha ha ha./ No accident in God.
Year 2020
So this year 2020, the shemitah year, what God is saying to you or to me? What is saying to us a nation?
Is there’s something this Shemitah, the No. “555” as the Year of Release that is right at the corner, knocking on our doors?
Because shemitah is also means “knocking of the door” Will that be a blessing or a curse? Can’t we hear something from God that we can truly hold on to?
The Lord’s Supper
And why we keep on celebrating The Lord’s Supper? Is it not a recollection or a memento to remind us to His Coming? Is it not a form of covenant too in the same way God covenanted with Abraham?
(picture3)
Conclusion:
What is the prediction of the stars to this world and the country where you live in (like in the Philippines), do you know when to start, where to begin your journey and where will you end?
Nostradamus says that global war can only be averted provided humans will learn to love one another and that’s the only way to pave the way for universal peace. But the Bible tells us only Christ, the only begotten son of God, the Prince of Peace is the universal answer for such man’s highest pursuit of hope and aspiration.
